Why does my flight show a different plane?
Your booking with the airline is always the final word. We show the aircraft we think is most likely on the day, and sometimes that differs from what the airline's website still says.
How we pick the aircraft: we start with the airline's published schedule (industry schedule data from OAG). Many airlines fly more than one cabin layout on the same aircraft type. To narrow it down, we check which layouts that flight has actually flown recently, plane by plane. When a flight has been flying a different aircraft from the one scheduled, we show what it has been flying.
Why it can change: airlines swap aircraft, sometimes close to departure. Schedules for flights more than a month away also get reshuffled before the airline updates individual bookings, and now and then the schedule data has a glitch.
Got an aircraft-change alert the airline doesn't know about? Go by the airline. Check your reservation on their website or app now and then before you fly. If you send us the flight number and date, we'll look at what set the alert off: it helps us make alerts more accurate.
The AeroLOPA app keeps checking your saved flights right up to departure and tells you if the aircraft changes.
